    After studying law at the ULPG (University of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completing a master’s degree in European law at Granada University, Flor Diaz Pulido followed up studies in diplomacy and international relations at the “CEI International Affairs” of Barcelona, including short periods at Cambridge University, Sciences Politiques (Paris) and the "Hautes Études Internationales" in Geneva.

    She started her career as European Commission official in 1995 in the Legal Affairs department of DG Fisheries. She joined the Directorate General for Energy and Transport in 2000. She focused mainly on aviation and maritime transports, internal market, competition law, consumer affairs related to transport and passenger rights. Flor was appointed Deputy Head of Unit at the Passenger Rights Unit in DG MOVE in 2010.

    In 2013, she joined DG GROW (Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) as Deputy Head of Unit C2 Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials. In 2017, she joined the European Space Policy (currently DG DEFIS-Defence and Space) as Deputy Head of Unit in the direction of the Galileo space program. Flor came back to DG MOVE in June 2018, where she is currently the Head of Unit in the Aviation Policy Unit, in charge of sustainability policies of the aviation sector and the internal market of aviation and airport services, as well as coordination with ECAC and ICAO.

    Joan Sullivan Garrett is the Founder and Chairman of MedAire, the world’s largest integrated aviation and maritime provider of medical, travel and safety services.

    Ms. Garrett founded MedAire in 1985 to provide on-demand medical advice for in-flight medical emergencies (also known at telemedicine). The company has since expanded to provide travel risk management solutions for passengers and crew of airlines, business and general aviation, and luxury yachts.  Its core mission remains to protect and save lives.

    Today, MedAire is part of the global International SOS group of companies, and provides medical and security services to travelers around the world.

    Its services are considered so vital; MedAire is the standard medical solution on all new aircraft from the leading manufacturers including Gulfstream, Boeing Business Jets, Beechcraft, Embraer and Bombardier. Additionally, MedAire supports over 115 airlines around the world.

    Ms. Garrett served as Board member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and is the Chair of its Associate Member Advisory Council (AMAC).  Additionally, she is an active member of the Advisory Board for International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), former Chair of the Flight Safety Foundation Board. 

    Ms. Garrett consults with aviation industry leaders, government agencies such as the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, provides Congressional testimony on health and safety issues and consults with private industry on technology applications for distance-based medical care.

    Often quoted as a subject matter expert in national and international media such as USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times the BBC and the Discovery Channel, Ms. Garrett has authored numerous white papers on critical health-related opportunities and issues facing the aviation industry – from advocating the use of defibrillators to protecting against bio-terrorism and pandemic diseases. 

    Joan is the prolific author of industry white papers, a well-known speaker, and a subject matter expert in the realm of inflight physiology, critical care, cardiac care and remote medical services.  She captures the story of her entrepreneurial journey and Med Aire’s phenomenal success in her autobiography, One Life Lost, Millions Gained.

As CEO, he also steered the company’s growth trajectory, raising close to $1 billion dollars in funding, attracting world class talent to grow a team to 800+ employees, and collaborating with industry leaders, customers, partners, and stakeholders around the world.  

    He continues Lilium’s vision as Chief Engineer for Innovation and Future Programs and as a member of Lilium’s Board of Directors, to take Lilium even closer to reaching the goal of making sustainable and accessible high-speed, low noise regional air mobility a reality.

    Prior to that he was the CEO of a low-cost airline in India and in a 40-year career has held Executive posts in airlines in central Europe, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
