After studying law at the ULPG (University of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completing a master’s degree in European law at Granada University, Flor Diaz Pulido followed up studies in diplomacy and international relations at the “CEI International Affairs” of Barcelona, including short periods at Cambridge University, Sciences Politiques (Paris) and the "Hautes Études Internationales" in Geneva.

She started her career as European Commission official in 1995 in the Legal Affairs department of DG Fisheries. She joined the Directorate General for Energy and Transport in 2000. She focused mainly on aviation and maritime transports, internal market, competition law, consumer affairs related to transport and passenger rights. Flor was appointed Deputy Head of Unit at the Passenger Rights Unit in DG MOVE in 2010.

In 2013, she joined DG GROW (Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) as Deputy Head of Unit C2 Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials. In 2017, she joined the European Space Policy (currently DG DEFIS-Defence and Space) as Deputy Head of Unit in the direction of the Galileo space program. Flor came back to DG MOVE in June 2018, where she is currently the Head of Unit in the Aviation Policy Unit, in charge of sustainability policies of the aviation sector and the internal market of aviation and airport services, as well as coordination with ECAC and ICAO.

In his current role as deputy head of the bp Brussels office, Alex leads bp’s external engagement on low carbon mobility policies. Since joining bp in 2008, he held various external affairs, commercial and strategy roles across Germany, Belgium and the UK. Prior to this role, Alex was deeply involved in developing bp’s net zero ambition based in London at bp’s global HQs.

Athar has spent the last 25 years as a leader, aero-political negotiator, lawyer, advocacy specialist and CEO in various aviation organisations and companies, in both the public and private arena. Using his experience in the international aero-political world and proven track record in association management, Athar continues to strengthen and advocate for the European business aviation industry in the Brussels’ arena. As Secretary-General of the EBAA, Athar stands at the helm of Europe’s leading aviation association, strengthening the voice of business aviation in Europe at the highest EU political and institutional levels.

Richard Koe is the CEO of WINGX. Richard has established the commercial positioning of WINGX over the last decade, promoting WINGX through a range of thought leadership initiatives, new product design and delivery, and key account development. Richard has previously held management positions in various aircraft operator companies, and started out in the sector as a Board advisor to an investment group behind airline ventures and FBO groups. Prior to the aviation sector, Richard worked in telecom and technology sectors, mainly as a management consultant.

Member of the European Parliament since January 2007, Marian-Jean Marinescu is currently the coordinator of the EPP Group for transport policies and Chair of the European Parliament's Sky and Space Intergroup 2019 - 2024.

During the past legislatures, MEP Marinescu was vice-president of the PPE Group, chair of the PPE Working Group "Budgets and Structural Policies", coordinator of the PPE working group for the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and member of the Board of Directors of the European Agency for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GSA). 

In 2017, MEP Marinescu received the annual award of The European Business Aviation Award (EBAA). 

In 2020, MEP Marinescu received the annual award MEP of the Year for Transport and Tourism category.

Catherine Nicholson is European Affairs Editor at France 24. For her ‘Talking Europe’ programme on France 24, she regularly interviews decision-makers, including EU Commissioners, heads of state and government, and ministers from the EU and beyond.

Previously, Catherine anchored France 24’s flagship morning international news programme ‘Live from Paris’. During her twelve years at the network, she has also undertaken field reporting assignments ranging from austerity protests in Athens, to French presidential elections and the Cannes Film Festival. Prior to joining France 24, Catherine worked freelance for outlets including Agence France Presse (AFP), the BBC, and UK regional radio. She began her career at Bloomberg’s German business news TV channel.

Catherine is fluent in English, French and German, having gained first Class Honours in French & German Studies at Warwick University (UK).

Joan Sullivan Garrett is the Founder and Chairman of MedAire, the world’s largest integrated aviation and maritime provider of medical, travel and safety services.

Ms. Garrett founded MedAire in 1985 to provide on-demand medical advice for in-flight medical emergencies (also known at telemedicine). The company has since expanded to provide travel risk management solutions for passengers and crew of airlines, business and general aviation, and luxury yachts.  Its core mission remains to protect and save lives.

Today, MedAire is part of the global International SOS group of companies, and provides medical and security services to travelers around the world.

Its services are considered so vital; MedAire is the standard medical solution on all new aircraft from the leading manufacturers including Gulfstream, Boeing Business Jets, Beechcraft, Embraer and Bombardier. Additionally, MedAire supports over 115 airlines around the world.

Ms. Garrett served as Board member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and is the Chair of its Associate Member Advisory Council (AMAC).  Additionally, she is an active member of the Advisory Board for International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), former Chair of the Flight Safety Foundation Board. 

Ms. Garrett consults with aviation industry leaders, government agencies such as the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, provides Congressional testimony on health and safety issues and consults with private industry on technology applications for distance-based medical care.

Often quoted as a subject matter expert in national and international media such as USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times the BBC and the Discovery Channel, Ms. Garrett has authored numerous white papers on critical health-related opportunities and issues facing the aviation industry – from advocating the use of defibrillators to protecting against bio-terrorism and pandemic diseases. 

Joan is the prolific author of industry white papers, a well-known speaker, and a subject matter expert in the realm of inflight physiology, critical care, cardiac care and remote medical services.  She captures the story of her entrepreneurial journey and Med Aire’s phenomenal success in her autobiography, One Life Lost, Millions Gained.

FLYINGGROUP’s main base at Antwerp Airport took off in 1995 with the ‘Flying Partners’ shared ownership program. Little by little, the fleet, consisting at that time of a small Conquest turboprop, elapsed in a period of 27 years to a wide scope of business aircraft ranging from light jets to long haul large business jets such as the Falcon 8X. Daniel Wiegand is the co-founder and first CEO, serving from 2015-2022, of Lilium, developer of the world’s first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet. He came up with the innovative idea while studying for his master’s in Aerospace and Engineering at the Technical University of Munich and set out on his vision to develop a more accessible and sustainable regional air travel solution.  

Daniel led the creation of the complex architecture for the high-speed, zero operating emissions, low noise electric aircraft, with Ducted Electric Vectored Thrust (DEVT) technology at its core.  

Since 2015, Lilium has developed and tested five generations of eVTOL aircraft. As CEO, he also steered the company’s growth trajectory, raising close to $1 billion dollars in funding, attracting world class talent to grow a team to 800+ employees, and collaborating with industry leaders, customers, partners, and stakeholders around the world.  

He continues Lilium’s vision as Chief Engineer for Innovation and Future Programs and as a member of Lilium’s Board of Directors, to take Lilium even closer to reaching the goal of making sustainable and accessible high-speed, low noise regional air mobility a reality. 

Juergen Wiese was appointed EBAA Chairman in September 2016. With over 30 years’ experience in aviation, he currently oversees BMW’s global corporate aviation operations including EASA Part 145 and Part M organisations. Juergen began his aviation career as an officer in the German Air Force, serving in the Air Crew Selection Program for Air Force and Navy in his

last assignment. After working as a flight instructor and developing and managing a start-up air charter business he joined BMW AG in 1995. He also served as the Managing Director of BMW’s Global Corporate Travel Service for more than six years.

Graham is the President of ACASS Ireland, a corporate aircraft management operator based in Europe using the “EJ” registry with an Irish (EASA) type A Air Operator Certificate and Operating Licence.  Leading and outstanding team, with complimentary skills and a proven track record in their fields, ACASS Ireland delivers unrivalled customer service, safety and operational excellence.   ACASs Ireland is part of the ACASS Group of companies headquartered in Montreal and one of the worlds leading providers of Corporate and Business Aviation services.

Prior to launching ACASS Ireland, Graham was the President responsible for all Aircraft Management and Charter Operations for one of the World’s leading Business Aviation Operators.  In his 14 years with this group, he grew the core business in Switzerland and the UK to more than 90 aircraft helping to create additional operations in Spain, Hong Kong, Bahrain and Malta.

Prior to that he was the CEO of a low-cost airline in India and in a 40-year career has held Executive posts in airlines in central Europe, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. 

He has been a member of the EBAA Board of Governors for six years and served on the Executive Committee.
